The study is looking at the major families that lived in this small Virginia town from the late 1700s to the present. Many of them married across family lines, and until about 50 years ago stayed in that location.
Several focuses of the study include the significance of a location called “Indian Swamp” where the author has evidence of actual occupation pre-settlement.
The location is also at the intersection of three counties: Prince George, Dinwiddie, and Sussex. All of these counties have significant colonial and Civil War histories that will factor into the study.
